Active Myofascial Release

Active myofascial release is a soft tissue technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves (collectively called soft tissue).

The doctors at White Mountain Chiropractic and Rehabilitation will use their hands to evaluate the texture, tightness, adhesions (scar tissue) and restrictions of these soft tissues. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precise pressure or tension with specific movements performed by the patient. This myofascial release targets the dysfunctional areas and is used to break it up and free up the soft tissue. The specific contact, tension, and patient movement set active myofascial release apart from other passive soft tissue techniques.

Active Myofascial Release is effective at treating injuries including:

  • Back and Neck Pain

  • Headaches

  • Knee Injuries

  • Shoulder Pain (Rotator Cuff)

  • Tennis and Golfer’s Elbow

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
